Our change of landline provider has not gone as well as we would have liked. We were using Skype VOIP with a dedicated number. It proved to be reliable and was considerably cheaper than our previous supplier. Indeed, international calls were very cheap.
We were surprised a short while ago to find out that Microsoft were stopping their product. While we've had few issues, the current administration seems to have been overwhelmed by this change and we have little faith in getting a smooth transfer of our landline number within a reasonable time.
In the end we decided to get a new local number rather than wait.
Our new number is 01604-969582.
We now understand that the old number will probably work for some time as it looks like Microsoft are doing a partial rethink.
