TPN Invoicing / TPN Invoicing - suddenly not emailing invoices
« on: September 07, 2016, 01:56:03 pm »
The program uses a system called MAPI to send out the invoices using your email client. This is part of the Windows Operating System and is used by many software vendors to send emails.

TPN Invoicing creates an email and asks MAPI to send it. To see the settings go into Control Panel then Default Programs. Look in 'Set your program defaults'. Find your email client and choose the option of 'Choose defaults for this program'. The MAPI section should have a tick on it. (In Windows 10 Falls update this has disappeared!)

1. If you install the 'Click to Run' version of Office365 then it can cause this to fail as it modifies MAPI and stops it from working in the same way. There is not a simple fix as you have to modify a number of Registry entries to get it back to normal.

2. If you use Hotmail through Microsoft Office and your emails stop working then it may be that Microsoft have upgraded your email server. from POP3 to IMAP. They started doing this in 2016. Previous versions used Hotmail with Outlook using the Outlook Connector software. This is now obsolete. You will need to remove the account in Outlook that says 'Hotmail MAPI' and add the account again. You will only need to know your username and password to set it up.

3. If using Office 2016 or earlier versions then it may be using the wrong MAPI file. In the case of Office 2016 go into this folder :-

C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\VFS\ProgramFilesCommonX86\System\MSMAPI\1033

Here you will find a file called MSMAPI32.DLL which you should rename to oldMSMAPI32.DLL

Try the emailing again. If this fails then go into C:\Windows\System32 and locate the file mapi32.dll and rename it to oldmapi32.dll then run the program fixmapi.exe which is in the same folder.

Item 3 applies to other versions of Office. You will find an extra MAPI file in a sub folder of ProgramFiles (x86)\Microsoft Office which should be renamed.

Windows / Can I downgrade from Windows 10 Enterprise to Professional?
« on: September 04, 2016, 04:34:30 pm »
The simple answer is yes BUT it wipes all your programs and data.

You can only update Enterprise if you have a subscription. The free Windows 10 update does not work.

Windows / Parallels Desktop - error upgrading to Windows 10 Anniversary ed
« on: September 03, 2016, 10:33:49 pm »
Your installation fails with an error in prl_tg.sys using Parallels 12 despite the fact that you were already running Windows 10.

Despite running the Parallel Tools update several times when you looked at the diagnostic log there were mentions of Parallels Tools 11 and not 12.

Manually load Parallel Tools from the disk image. and see if this cures the problem and allows the Anniversary Update to install.

Loadmaster / Latest version - 43.1.34.0
« on: August 22, 2016, 04:57:55 pm »
Loadmaster now saves the consignment and then prints the label out of the UK TPN Connect. You can now even reprint TPN UK labels within Loadmaster as well.

In Browse Accounts where you can print off Avery style address labels.

There is an option on Utilities/Data File Utilities called Check for Problem Jobs which you might like to run every so often.

If you use a different set of account codes operationally that are different from those you post to Sage then every individual account now has an 'export account as' field on the Billing tab to get around this.

I've also tidied up the International placefinder. Try EIFFEL TOWER !

The Quotes section is now expanded and you can now post a quote to a job.

Loadmaster / TPN UK - Delivery date wrong after export
« on: August 19, 2016, 03:31:23 pm »
You enter a consignment into Loadmaster that is going to TPN and the delivery date is wrong.

As an example on a Friday you enter a Saturday delivery and it routes it within TPN Connect to next Saturday.

This is due to the Collection service of the consignment when it enters the TPN system. If set to EC it believes it needs to add extra days on for the collection (even though it is your own collection).

To get around this go into Setup/Global Parameters and the TPN tab. Alter the default COL SERVICE to ND.

Update - this was due to a problem with the computation on the TPN Web Services which has now been corrected.

Give yourself plenty of time for this update. It takes quite a time. Allow a couple of hours - my machine is quite fast and it took this time.

Windows / Windows 10 issues with latest update - August 2016
« on: August 15, 2016, 05:28:42 pm »
It seems that there is a problem with the latest release that hangs in certain situations.

If you run a SSD drive with Windows on it and your programs on another drive then you can get hanging.

Microsoft are aware of the issue.

TPN Invoicing / EXE, Batch File or PIF File Not Found: EMAILS
« on: August 12, 2016, 04:39:31 pm »
During emailing invoices you get :-

EXE, Batch File or PIF File Not Found: EMAILS
Please notify technical support immediately!

Before anything else is considered look in Setup/Company and ensure that EMAIL TO TPN SOAP is NOT ticked.

If this is not the case then it looks like this is caused by one of the Windows DLL's either missing or corrupt. The Windows subsystem actually does the emailing and not the Invoicing program.

The file may be any of MAPI.DLL , MAPISTUB.DLL or MAPI32.DLL

Check out http://support.microsoft.com/kb/260970. (Microsoft seemed to have archived this now!)

This can occur if you have ever loaded Office 2010 which has its own versions of these. Clearly they expect you to use Office 2016.

Replace the files with versions from a computer that works OK or obtain from the original CD.

And/or try this -

Look in this folder -

C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Msmapi\1033 and see if it contains a file called MSMapi32.dll

If so, can you rename this to MSMapi32.old

Try to email again.

If this fails then go into C:\Windows\System32 and find the file MAPI32.DLL and rename this to MAPI32.OLD

In the same folder you will find a file called FIXMAPI.EXE - just run this.

Try to email again.

Please note that there are many Mickey Mouse cures on the internet for this issue. You are advised to only take advice from Microsoft owned web sites.

TPN Invoicing / TPN Invoicing and SOAP - help
« on: August 03, 2016, 09:50:26 am »
I've added a PDF document that covers all the basic setup of these to our web site in the TPN Invoicing and TPN SOAP folders.

Most problems that we encounter are simply due to something not being set in the program. Hope this helps.

Windows / Here Maps - Windows 10 phone
« on: August 03, 2016, 09:47:26 am »
Here Maps has been removed from Windows 10 phone. The operating system is so far different from Windows 8 that it is difficult to maintain.

You will get a message (like I did) when you use Here Maps to this effect.

I have moved to Co-Pilot.

You may get an error message and the program stops. It may occur immediately after installing a new version of the program or you log onto Windows as a different user.

It's due to security in Windows and means that the program was previously installed under a particular user and that's not you!

There are two solutions -

1. De-install Loadmaster. Browse to C:\ProgramData\ZiPZAP Computers Limited\ and delete the LOADMASTER folder you find here. You may need to authorise it as ADMINISTRATOR.

Re-install Loadmaster.

You will have to go into Setup/Local Parameters and complete this again.

OR another method (easier)

2. Go into My Computer then Local Disk C: and the folder ProgramData (not Program Files) and you will find a directory called ZiPZAP Computers Limited.

Enter this directory and you will see a folder called LOADMASTER. Right-click on this and choose PROPERTIES.

Click on the SECURITY tab. Half way down you will see a button that says EDIT. Click this.

You will get a new screen with a list of users. Click on the ADD button.

Add a user called Everyone

Hit the CHECK button. It will be accepted. Click on Everyone in the table. Put a tick in Full Control at the bottom and hit the APPLY button.

Now OK and come out. You can now access the system as another user.
